About the Event
In these times, it may seem like all that matters is federal and state elections - however, local elections are extremely important in creating sustainable change.
Our first guest in the Election Forum series is City Council candidate Rebecca Eisenberg. Rebecca is a Stanford alumna who received her J.D. from Harvard Law School, and has had her writings cited on both the floor of Congress and in Supreme Court decisions. She was also a highly influential journalist - one of the first to cover the Silicon Valley tech boom. Her social activism and writings helped lead to the passage of the Violence Against Women Act, and can now be heard at our City Council meetings, where she leads the community in pushing City Council to listen to the residents. This is her website, where she outlines her policy proposals in more detail. This would be an opportunity for you to learn and voice your concerns about our city’s budget, traffic problems, housing developments, and the many other important issues. We hope you will join us to learn more and ask questions of Rebecca.
If you cannot make the event but would still like to support Rebecca on her journey to creating a better Palo Alto, you can do so by contributing here.
